FAQ

Common questions

Need specifics for your case? Our team will advise one‑on‑one.

What is a Single Status Certificate?

A Single Status Certificate, also called Affidavit of Bachelorhood/Spinsterhood or Letter of No Impediment, is a sworn declaration that you have not been legally married. Many countries and embassies request it for marriage or immigration.

Do I need an Apostille?

Nigeria is not a signatory to the Hague Apostille Convention, so an apostille is not issued locally. Instead, documents are legalized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then at the destination Embassy/Consulate if required. We will handle the correct route for your case.

How long does it take?

Typical timelines are 3–7 business days for affidavit and notarization, plus 5–12 business days for MOFA and any embassy legalization (timelines vary by mission). Express options are available.

Affidavit vs. Letter of No Impediment, what's the difference?

The affidavit is sworn at a High Court declaring you’re single. Some destinations require an additional official letter (No Impediment) from civil authorities and/or legalization by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the relevant Embassy. We advise on the exact combo for your destination.

Can you process it if I live outside Nigeria?

Yes. You will provide a signed authorization letter and KYC. We process in Nigeria and ship the originals to you via courier; scanned copies are sent first for review.

Refunds & rejections

Government fees are non‑refundable once paid. If an authority requests changes, we update the affidavit text and re‑present at no extra service fee (you may cover any new official fees).
